Maple wood belongs to the genus of decid­u­ous trees and there are numer­ous species with­in its fam­i­ly. It is also one of the most valu­able and pre­cious woods. Maple is known for its high strength and elas­tic­i­ty, it is placed in the medi­um-hard to hard wood cat­e­go­ry. Maple facil­i­tates the elab­o­ra­tion of fine details and can have a var­ied appear­ance depend­ing on the species. For exam­ple; the wood can have col­oration vari­ants of white over light brown or a slight­ly red­dish-grey tint. The struc­ture of maple wood is uni­form and is char­ac­terised by fine pores. The grain is very dis­creet with light brown lines. The annu­al rings are clear­ly visible.
