Walnut belongs to the genus wood family and grows in warm locations. It is a true precious wood that has an uneven light to dark brown color, which may have a red or purple shimmer. The grain is lively with broad dark veins that run through it irregularly. The structure of the grain may be striped, flamed or cloudy. The color and structure of the wood vary depending on the location. As the wood has individual color and grain, a lively surface structure is created. When exposed to sunlight walnut darkens and the grain becomes less visible.
