How much wood is a hardwood ster?
A ster is a relative measure and corresponds to one cubic metre (1m wide, 1m high, 1m deep) of stacked logs with a length of 1m. Depending on the type of wood, this is 300 — 500 kg weight for dried wood. Depending on the length of the logs, the space requirement of the wood stack changes, as the gaps between the logs become smaller when they are stacked again.
